Question for JdeB

@JdeB, Is there a way to include a program in the scite installer that will allow the scite, tidy, and au3check definitions to be updated automatically from the helpfile when a new au3 is installed? That would keep you out of the loop having to update them and it would also allow the users to update them themselves without a lot of hewadache. It would probably require an external program to extract the pages from the helpfile and then au3 to parse them.

What do you think?

EDIT: I found a chm decompiler here: http://www.keyworks.net/keytools.htm a program called keytools includes a decompiler that extracts the files exactly in the perfect directories to allow parsing for functions.

Who else would I be?

There's already a script which can generate all those files from the documentation source. I believe http://www.autoitscript.com/fileman/users/jdeb/test/gensyntax.zip is it. I tested it a couple days ago on the latest doc's and it worked just fine.

I am using the Doc source that Jon makes available and generate all definitions files from that source with an AutoItscript.

I am also publishing these changes on a regular basis in an seperate installer called scite4au3upd.exe that contains the definition files and program updates, or http://www.autoitscript.com/fileman/users/jdeb/scite4au3updtable.exe which is just an update of all definition files...
