Devices attached to system

2 posts in this topic

I would like to make a script that changes various mouse settings upon the connection of one mouse or another. I'm using a laptop and depending on where I am and what I'm doing I one of two mice, one of them is a laser mouse and is quite touchy, so when it is attached I must reduce the sensitivity in the control panel, unfortionatly changing the sensitivity for one mouse changes it for all as the settings are not device specific. So when I use my other mouse it barely moves because the sensitivity it low. I can work out how to change everything that I need to however I am having some difficulty detecting which mouse it attached. Any ideas?

Nevermind it seems i have found the answer to my own question, I have found an area in the registry (HKLM\system\controlset001\services\mouclass\enum\) that lists the currently attached mouse devices  . Sorry to have bothered you.
