Creating a Version checker

Okay, I've got no idea how to go about this. The only thing I've tried was using the IniRead command to read an INI file that I put on my webserver, but that didn't work. Any suggestions on how I would go about doing this?

I can't find it in the help file, so I don't know what it returns or how to implement it.
