hi,

How can I set a msgbox as a child of a GUI? so there wont be 2 items in the taskbar, but 1.

make the msgbox in a GUI.

Search the example scripts. people have made GUIs that replicate Msgbox.

I think thats the only option, but are there other ways to do this? DllCall or something?

'Behind the curtain' when you execute MsgBox() or GuiCreate() in an AutoIt scipt, the AutoIt interpreter is making all the appropriate DLL and WinAPI calls for you. If you are going there yourself, you might as well code in C++, which is what the AutoIt interpreter is written in... not a bad thing if you can do it, but not AutoIt scripting anymore.
