probedrone
Sorry not really an AutoIt problem, but I figure lots of people here should know about regular expressions...So, say I have "tom: hello there"I want to match "tom"If I use '.*[^:]' it gives me the entire stringIf I use '.*:' it gives me "tom:"How do I do a one-liner that just gives me "tom"? Moderators SmOke_N Posted August 20, 2007 Moderators Share Posted August 20, 2007 (edited) Edit: A working example:(mind you, you don't need #include <array.au3> unless you are going to use something in that file as I am with _ArrayDisplay) #include <array.au3> $a = StringRegExp("tom: hello there", "^(.*?):", 3) _ArrayDisplay($a) Edited August 20, 2007 by SmOke_N Common sense plays a role in the basics of understanding AutoIt... If you're lacking in that, do us all a favor, and step away from the computer.
