Iuli Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Hi, I'm in a big trouble. Is there any chance to detect with AutoIT the type of media (CD,DVD) in a selected drive. Thank you very much . SFXMaker - The most complete switchless installer creator software

BigDod Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 You could try using DriveGetType but I do not think that it knows the difference between CD and DVD. DriveGetFileSystem might also help. bhoar Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Yeah, thanks, DriveGetFileSystem would help me. But what if i want to detect disks as CD-R/DVD-R DVD+R, CD-RW/DVD-RW etc ?My approach was to extend my SPTI code (posted in these forums) which talks directly to the drive and use the Get Configuration CDB (0x46). I'd post the code I'm using now, but it is desperately in need of a cleanup.-brendan
