Textbox

How do you make a text box that will just sit in the corner while your script runs? I need it so that while it's running you can know what all the hotkeys are, so it can't be an answerbox.

I just need something that will tell you what the hotkeys do, and stay open while the script is running. I tried the splash but it just flashed a lot.

You can try the last example of SplashText (helpfile)...

;; SMOOTH
$message = ""
SplashTextOn("TitleFoo", $message, -1, -1, -1, -1, 4, "")
For $x = 1 to 20
    $message = $message & $x & @LF
    ControlSetText("TitleFoo", "", "Static1", $message)
    sleep(100)
Next

For update info to SplashText: ControlSetText

Small example:

HotKeySet("^+a", "func1");CTRL+SHIFT+a
HotKeySet("^+s", "func2");CTRL+SHIFT+s
HotKeySet("^+x", "_quit");CTRL+SHIFT+x

$splashTitle= "Hotkeys pressed"
SplashTextOn($splashTitle, "none", 150, 50, 5, 5, 16)
While 1

Wend

Func func1()
   updateSplash("CTRL+SHIFT+a")
  ; your functions here
EndFunc

Func func2()
   updateSplash("CTRL+SHIFT+s")
  ; your functions here
EndFunc

Func _quit()
   SplashOff()
   MsgBox(0, "Exit", "")
   exit
  ; your functions here
EndFunc

Func updateSplash($hotkey)
   ControlSetText($splashTitle, "", "Static1", $hotkey)
EndFunc

Are you constantly changing the text? :)

One alternative is ToolTip(...)

$text = "I really like" & @CRLF & "the multi-line" & @CRLF & "tooltips"

ToolTip($text, 0, 0)
While 1
   sleep(100)
WEnd

Use Mozilla | Take a look at My Disorganized AutoIt stuff | Very very old: AutoBuilder 11 Jan 2005 prototype I need to update my sig!
