Detecting a wallpaper change

3 posts in this topic

I'm thinking that I'm going to have to constantly check the registry if I want to immediately know if the wallpaper has been changed.

I was hoping there was some sort of way (probably using dlls) that you could detect a change without the constant looping. Is there something like this?

API hooks could do such a thing. Although not a 100% way to detect registry changes, it's pretty relaible. There are some example here on the forums on how to hook some apis and google has many more <_<

Check out the RegNotifyChangeKeyValue function, I think it is just what you need.
