Guys,

I want to send a string of commands to a window that's not active without getting it in front (active) so I can work without the program disrupt me

Is that possible?

I tried the ControlSend () or ControlFocus() commands but it didn't work without a WinActivate()

but then the program comes in front so I can't work

can somebody help this noob :P

thanks for advise

Another approach, if all else fails, might be to WinMove the application out of the desktop area then it won't get in your way even if it's active. You can always move it back again afterwards. (I haven't tried this.)

Serial port communications UDF Includes functions for binary transmission and reception.printing UDF Useful for graphs, forms, labels, reports etc.Add User Call Tips to SciTE for functions in UDFs not included with AutoIt and for your own scripts.Functions with parameters in OnEvent mode and for Hot Keys One function replaces GuiSetOnEvent, GuiCtrlSetOnEvent and HotKeySet.UDF IsConnected2 for notification of status of connected state of many urls or IPs, without slowing the script.
