Script styling question

Recommended Posts

Dear All,

In order to impove the readability of my script, sometime it is necessary to split a long line into multiple lines. For example, the initialisation of a multi-dimensional array.

I wonder if anyone of you know how to split a long line into multiple lines please.

Thanks!

Terry

Hello tele,

I believe the '_' character is what you're looking for:

Dim $var = "This is a very long line of code that " & _
"wraps around the screen "& _
          "a couple of times..."
ConsoleWrite( $var & @CRLF)

Let me know if this helps or not,

Zach...

But you have to remember that you need to end the split with ' _' (there's a space before the underline) as fisherdrums did but it might not have been obvious.

Serial port communications UDF Includes functions for binary transmission and reception.printing UDF Useful for graphs, forms, labels, reports etc.Add User Call Tips to SciTE for functions in UDFs not included with AutoIt and for your own scripts.Functions with parameters in OnEvent mode and for Hot Keys One function replaces GuiSetOnEvent, GuiCtrlSetOnEvent and HotKeySet.UDF IsConnected2 for notification of status of connected state of many urls or IPs, without slowing the script.

Martin and zfisherdrum,

Thanks! The " _" is working perfectly. Thanks mates.
