Dsquery

5 posts in this topic

hello

Sorry for my ignorance:

I'm updating some old Admin scripts we have for our help desk. Part of the old script is a batch file that finds the workstation that a user is logged into.

batch code:

dsquery computer -desc *%USERNAME%*logon* -o rdn > C:\TEMP\logon.txt

I'm looking at moving everything to Autoit. (I'm still a new A3 user) Any ideas on the best way of doing this?

I'm hoping to have a GUI screen that will list the computers names if finds in the txt file. Then the user just need to click on the name to connect to the workstation.

But I'm stuck on the dsquery part.

Run(@ComSpec & " /c c:\windows\system32\dsquery.exe computer -desc *" & @UserName & "*logon* -o rdn > C:\TEMP\logon.txt","",@SW_HIDE)

Yes, open a new ticket instead of resurrecting a 9 year old thread.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
