autoIT script return immediately

When I launch the autoIT3 program (exe) from win bat a script or from a dos win, the exe starts, but it detaches itself immediately. So I have no way of knowing if the program is done or not.

Is there a trick that I can launch the autoit program, and it will not return until it finishes?
