You know guys, I got the easiest way to do this. And its only two steps! No code needed!

Initiation

1. Unplug ethernet/usb/phone cord that supplies internet to computer. Child is now in computer stone age.

Recovery

1. Plug cord back in. Internet should magically come back to computer.

By the way, I'm kidding.... These are actually helping me learn a lot, thanks for the examples guys, I feel kinda weird learning from people like 3yrs younger than me though, lol.

Seems like a lot of work when you could just use this

netsh interface ip set address "local area connection" gateway=192.168.1.111 gwmetric=0

and then this to restore

netsh interface ip set address "local area connection" gateway=192.168.1.1 gwmetric=0

That leaves you with lan but no wan.

I have three younglings, 4,7 & 10. All have thier own pc. All are way too advanced already, so I am confident they will know how to bypass simple measures at some point. For now this works well.

But, as was once said

Luke, there are alternatives.

Seems like if you want real protection you need a router with a strong password locked in a box with a padlock so the 'reset' button can't be depressed :)

Sul.
