Joomla CMS UserDB and AutoIt!

Not sure if this comes out right or not, but here goes it!

I am running a Joomla v1.5 CMS Web Portal on a linux host and was wanting to build a AutoIt GUI that has a GUI based login that can authenticate against a Joomla v1.5 user DB/table in MySQL. I know there are some MySQL UDFs around but am not sure how I could have my AutoIt GUI verify if a username and password are correct as it is in the MySQL Table/DB if the passwords in the sql table are in a HASH format.
