Showcase your best looking GUI

7 posts in this topic

Have anyone gone beyond the standard forms GUI? Have anyone been able to create a pleasant looking GUI, with use of transparents, shiny backgrounds, smooth transition etc? Something like web 2.0 styles?

Please provide a screenshot and the sample code. Let's share ideas on the front-end coding.

Several of them. Check Example Scripts and, IMO, this thread belongs in Chat.

Question about decompiling code? Read the decompiling FAQ and don't bother posting the question in the forums.

Can you please show me some examples?

I have been in the examples thread and I have thread like the xSkins.au3. It just places some background images behind the GUI.

Probably any kind of GUI can be done with autoIT, but basically I want to see the furthest people have gone in GUI, any close to Windows Vista GUI?. Are there any limitations of AutoIT3 in terms of GUI? I am making a serious application for my company, and right now it is with basic edit controls and buttons. I wouldn't want to be stucked later down the road.

For example, I realised autoIT3 is very slow for file manipulation, and I had to port the code to Perl.

Should I consider Visual Studio? Preferably not. I did prefer the coding for the algorithm be done in other languages like Java or Perl or C# but leave tiny automation and GUI to autoIT.

Any advice?

Search for png to gui...that will give you transparency and if you know some photoshop(or any other good pics editor) you'll make the best gui ever.

I like "old fashion" standard GUIs more.

I'd say you're write 99% of the time. After having spent hours trying to make a fancy GUI I realized that it would probably just look better with standard controls. Also, lots of programs that try to have look really nice generally are buggy and don't actually look very good.
