5 posts in this topic

Well I'm going to build a "heartbeat" program to my computers... And for the windows platform this looks easy with autoit... It would make a connection every 5 min to then net to says its online and runnning.. But are there any "longterm" problems in this.... Like would it demand more and more resources if I keep it in a loop... etc...

In most cases, checking for internet over a long period of time, usually increaes the CPU usages alot. They may be other ways, maybe calling a dll, closing it, then use the ReduceCPU usage function, and so on.

As far as I know there are no problems if you use AutoIt properly :-)

But if encounter some problems then feel free to post bug report.

Or you may create record in Windows scheduler for your time period to run your AutoIt program and close it immediatelly.

One guy on the forums decided that the way to solve his memory leak problem was to have his script start a new instance of his program, and then exit the current one.
