Attempt at using PNG background

Has anyone been able to get .bmp files, transparency, and fading to work? I independently found the transparency issue described by james3mg. GEOSoft's fade function also has the same issue with .bmp files and transparency - the transparent color becomes visible when the fade takes place.

The OP's png method does solve the transparency issue of the background image file, but I can't understand why you cannot place controls directly on that GUI. I have tried, and the controls exist (clicking creates the desired effect), but they cannot be seen. It is like they are under the image, and the image is completely transparent allowing the controls to be clicked. I have tried altering the order but have not found a solution.

Wondering if anyone has any viable solution or work around to using .bmp's as a background image with fades.

Thanks,

Bob

You can't see a rainbow without first experiencing the rain.

I didn't play with the BMP background and it may be that you have to set the transparency of the BMP after the fade-in. I just convert the images to GIF and they work fine.
