Predicament with TCP connections

1 post in this topic

In order to disconnect from my tcp server I need to send authentication to verify the disconnect, eliminating malicious users....

In the sent information there is token info, and user info.

If the user doesn't get past the verification stage (eg. logging in with user/pass), it wont be saved.

thereby making the disconnection method useless, and leaving open sockets.

I'm looking for a way to remove these open sockets without verification, in such a way that it could not be exploited....

If anyone has any comments or suggestions, PLEASE let me know!

Or, does it auto disconnect when the user closes the application?

It seemed to leave connections in a time_wait state when I did this...
