IE7 automation problem with JSP

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I could not find any reason for my problem even when searching the forums or experimenting the script, so I have to ask:

I have to automate IE7, open a Java app (JSP) on a local server:

CODE

$oIEPW = _IECreate("http://myServer:myport/myPath/index.jsp",1, 1, 1, 0)

MsgBox(0, "Browser Hdl:", $oIEPW)

MsgBox(0, "Error Browser Hdl:", @error)

$oIEPW = _IEAttach("VisualWeb", "embedded")

; $oIEPW = _IEAttach("visualtime", "HTML")

MsgBox(0, "Browser Hdl:", $oIEPW)

MsgBox(0, "Error Browser Hdl:", @error)

MsgBox(0, "Errouneous Parameter:", @Extended)

$oIEUser = _IEFormGetObjByName($oIEPW, "Benutzername")

MsgBox(0, "User Hdl:", $oIEUser)

Depending on the numbered params for _IECreate(), I either get an empty reply or a '0' with @error=0. _IEAttach returns always a 0 with @Error=@Extended=0. When I use "Embedded" as param, I get an eror output as

C:\Programme\AutoIt3\Include\IE.au3 (4088) : ==> Subscript used with non-Array variable.:

If IsObj($aRet[4]) Then

If IsObj($aRet^ ERROR

Can someone help me out?

BTW, I am more an app develloper with LabVIEW rather than a Web develloper.

TIA and

Greetings from Germany!

Uwe

In general, JSP is only JAVA on the server side... it produces standard HTML.

The Embedded error is a bug in AutoIt 3.2.0.10 - suggest you update to the .11 beta.

_IECreate returns an object variant, not something that you want to try to output in a MsgBox. Proper test would be

IsObj($oIEPW)

or

ObjName($oIEPW)

SciTe Debug mode - it's magic: #AutoIt3Wrapper_run_debug_mode=Y Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Reproducer: a small (the smallest?) piece of stand-alone code that demonstrates your trouble
