Visual Basic .net or AutoIT V3?

IMHO:

Visual Basic.net by FAR- It took me about a week to get a general grasp of basic Autoit functionality.

I'm still looking into the "Hello Worlds" of from Visual Basic.

Another thing, Autoit is pretty much Stand-alone. with the exception of requiring a windows OS, Autoit has no huge "run-time dependencies" or ".DLL databases" or any of that epic space-wasting stuff that any .net has to come with.

but visual basic is a good programming language.

it is easy then AutoIt.

autoit is a script and it can not be used for too much function like VB have.

haha, I took a course on VB in school...in a year, I learned how to make a couple neat programs such as a casino and a fighting game...but...they are truly basic...basically in a year, I learned random number generating...If, For, And Next loops...and a couple other things....basically...the basics....in autoit however, in 1 month...on my own, with no other support from a teacher...just the helpfile and the forum, I have learned how to do so much more...IMO autoit = god :)

Where is the old lady and her broom? :)

Really sorry for that but I just had to get it out.

I too think autoit is easier to learn/use, simple because it has a really simple syntax and a huge collection of function which gives you a great start! :)

Broken link? PM me and I'll send you the file!

If you are completly new I'll advice you to start with Java insted of VB. if you like to write things like fast 3d games in the future, then Java isn't fast enough (yet or maybe it is) but it's really a great an easy to learn language.

Regards

EDIT: Or offcause AutoIt v3 :) but this is only a scripting language, so it's a little hard to compare them
