Newbie Needs Some Help

2 posts in this topic

I have this script from work that takes a .txt file with computer names and gets some info such as IP if the host name is correct and who was the last user logged on. Then it outputs a .cvs spreadsheet. I want to make it also get the MAC address of the computer also. I'm kinda of a newbie to autoit scripting. Done some scripting before but was still was not able to get it working correctly. Can someone help me make this work and also explain how they did it. Thanks.

After you ping an IP address, its MAC address is cached for a short time in the ARP table, which you can view with "ARP -a" for the whole table, or "ARP -a 192.168.1.1" for a specific IP.

There may be a way to query the ARP table from WMI, but I never looked into it.
