View multiple websites from single page

An idea I had, I don't even really know how to go about starting a project like this. I was trying to figure out if AutoIT was able to parse a list of web pages and return the headlines for those pages in a neat little package. It would be from a variety of sites, places like CNN.com, Slashdot.org, news.com, arstechnica.com, and a few smaller sites that don't have as complex of formatting. If someone could point me in the right direction, all I need are some good scripting start points.

More than likely those sites have an RSS feed or similar. I know Slashdot does (Link). It would be easiest to parse those as they will be in a standardized format and contain the headlines and possibly part/all the article.
