Anyone have a simple socket open/close example?

I'm a n00b and autoit is the first "programming" I've tried.

I'm interested in how you open/close a socket and how you would get information through the socket.

If anyone has a simple example of this, I would appreciate it. I have access to the usual servers, email, ftp, etc.

Also, anyone have a link to a good explanatory site(or preferably an autoit forum reference) for creating a simple com object and doing something with it.
