Double Quotes and Multiline Strings

3 posts in this topic

I am trying to create an IDE type program, and will need to be able to store multiline strings...

For example, in PHP I can replace the line breaks with the \n character so when I fwrite to a text file, the line breaks appear...

Is there a similar character in AutoIt that I don't have to keep using:"String"&@CRLF&"String..." for?

Also, how can I put double quotes in a string? Use single quotes to store them? : $string = 'My "string" that will be stored'

Thanks, and Community on Patrol, stay out of my thread this time XD

COP is a bot. It doesn't spam new users.

You can also double up your double quotes but it looks messy that way. "This is a ""quoted"" string."

There is no escape character for carriage return and line feed. You have to use the macro or run a function to translate all the \n's to new lines.

Ok, I think the function might be easier...
