caou
Good morning, I don't know if someone can help me on the subject. I actually have a Virtual Private Server on which I run different applications. One of the applications is very important for me and should run all the time. But sometimes, the application stops and send an error message. I would like to do a simple thing: when this error message appears I would like that the VPS makes a phone call on my mobile. I have tried to install Skype on my VPS and use AutoIt to diall my mobile phone number when the error message appears. But, the problem is that it is not possible to install Skype on a VPS because there isn't any microphone and speakers on a VPS!!!! I only need Skype to make the phone call so I can be aware of the situation, that's all. Do you know what I can do? Do you have any idea or other suggestion to make phone calls from a VPS? Thank you very much for your help. Cacou
dbzfanatic
Why not have it send an SMS message instead? There are scripts here that can do that. caou
Dbzfanatic, A SMS would be a good first step if I can't make a phone call. I would prefer a phone call to be sure I can hear it! What is the best solution for sending SMS? Thank you for your help. Cacou
dbzfanatic
Search the forums for "SMS" (if it allows you to) and you should get a topic I helped with also. There are free online SMS services so just use one of them. You could also do something like While 1 If Not ProcessExists(*process name*) Then Run(*process full path*) Endif Sleep(250) WEnd That will restart the process without you being involved at all. Edit: Added sleep for CPU usage.
