pdf to image? pdf to doc/odt?

3 posts in this topic

I am looking for a way to convert a pdf to an image or set of images (based on number of pages in pdf file or type of image file converted to).

I use imagemagick and jodconverter with openoffice to convert all my images to other images and docs to other docs (i use imagemagick instead of gdiplus because it gives the image to pdf option which my office needs)

I also want a way to convert pdfs to documents (doc or odt) for editing or modification (we get sent documents in pdf and sometimes need to make changes to various portions)

I really need it to be a .dll or command line app so I can call it from within my gui using selected parameters (file type, source, destination)

any help would be greatly appreciated

Take a look at xpdf. It has a commandline tool that allows you to convert pdf to text. That may work for you.

I've looked at that, and I may have to rely on it, but I was hoping for something that might be able to keep some of the more advanced formatting that a .txt file just can't do. Even .rtf would probably work well enough.
