Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am new to GUI scripting through AutoIt.

I want to open some document say word file. using GUI feature provided by AutoIt so that thet opend document can be viewd by user on the desktop. But as a part of automation i want AutoIt script to read the contant in opened window. Is it possible to read the content in this way.

Suppose i have Word document or say I have Excel document. Is it possible to open that document and then search withen opened window?

Any pointer in this direction will of grate importance

Thanks in advance.

wll you can use that for doc

another udf on the forum for docx, search for it

image control for images

excel udf for xls

and so on

unless you want to just get the file contents as they are... in that case use FileRead()

or what about a shellexecute ?
