HP Quickplay buttons

I have an HP Pavillion dv6700 and it has the HP quickplay buttons right above the keyboard. I was wondering if there is a way to detect if one of the buttons are pushed and then to run a function.

I am not sure how to detect which of the quickplay buttons are pressed however. I hope it is similar to detecting keyboard strokes but i have a feeling that it uses a different set of API and will be harder to detect.

If anyone knows a way to detect one of these buttons being pressed that would be awesome.

You mean like the media buttons? Like Play/Pause forward and back?
