Ok, so a site decides not to provide me their html and IE just sits there and pretends like it is trying to load a page.

What is the best way to deal with that?

Not enough information. What site? What does it do? Is there a popup dialog? How did you open it? Did you set the $f_wait = 0 parameter so the script could continue?
