Run code on PluginOpen() and PluginClose()

How would I run some initialization and cleanup code for a plugin when PluginOpen() and PluginClose() are called? Would it go under DllMain in Thread or Process Attach/Detach? Or is there a more appropriate way within the plugin architecture?
