Champak
About 10000 lines of code got replaced with the following when I reopened it in Scite, when I open it in notepad it is just a bunch of empty space. Is there something I can do that will convert it back? What happened? Edited February 19, 2009 by Champak
Developers Jos Posted February 19, 2009 Developers Share Posted February 19, 2009 (edited) Did you compile it with specifying the output file with the same name as the input file? To restore, just restore any of your backups created by Tidy or you backup program. Champak
I don't use tidy, and my backups are a 3 weeks old where since then I made a lot of important changes. I can get back the basics of what I had from 3 weeks ago, but I really need the recent stuff. So basically I'm out of luck?
Moderators Melba23 Posted February 19, 2009 Moderators Share Posted February 19, 2009 champak,My sympathy - we have all been (or will be!) in the same situation.I do not wish to rub salt into an open wound, but if you use SciTE, go to Options - Open User Options file - line 3 reads backup.files=#. Perhaps setting this value to a suitable positive integer might be a good idea for your future sanity.M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area
