Color code a key word

Ok I am floundering so bad here I dare not display my code as it will surely confuse anyone trying to help

I am trying to read a file - I know how to do that

I am trying to look far a particular string - I know how to do that

What I cannot figure out is how to write each line to a variable so i may display the text in a GUI tab and have key words a different color text or the whole line that contains a word be a different color Can this be done?
