Changing an application tray icon

5 posts in this topic

#1 ·  Posted (edited)

Hi there!

I need to change an application trayicon and replace it with my own from an ico file.

So far I found the Systray_UDF which cannot change an icon, and a posting

here which also handles tray entries, but none of them seemed

to have tried to actually change a trayicon.

Can anyone please give me a sample script how to do this? :)

Cheers

Kristo

TraySetIcon() Maybe? use the help file...its your best friend

Dating a girl is just like writing software. Everything's going to work just fine in the testing lab (dating), but as soon as you have contract with a customer (marriage), then your program (life) is going to be facing new situations you never expected. You'll be forced to patch the code (admit you're wrong) and then the code (wife) will just end up all bloated and unmaintainable in the end.

Uhm, TraySetIcon can only change my own icon, but not

the icon of another application.

I'm writing lots of things with AutoIt and search the forum on a regular

basis (although never needed to post before)

My problem is I need a sample how to change the trayicon

of another application with that of an .ico file.

If there's really something in the help file then it must be hidden perfectly

Thanks

Kristo

ohhh, i see there's been a miscomprehension (was it clear enough , i donno) btw, i thought of systrayUDF which lets u manipulate system tray icons of other apps, but changing them? hmm, lets see if we have anything from others , would be interesting to know. (i would personally not do it, anyways)
