Reading back from the appearance tab

Dear Bods,

From desktop: right click, properties, Appearance tab; there are three fields:

1) Windows and buttons

2) Windows Standard

3) Font Size

Is there a fancy pants way of setting these values without key/mouse clicks?

Is there an area where I can find this info?

All help is gladly appreciated.
