driver install script help

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I have only just started to use autoit and have created an Autoinstaller for avg which goes thru the setup itself (i install it on a lot of machines).

Anyhow I would now like a script that scans for hardware in need of drivers - then searches a directory to see if there is a driver for it, and of course installs it.

Problem is, I have no idea where to start. I have googled around for a bit and scanned thru this forum for code snippets which may help, but i cant really find anything.

My question is, can anyone point me in the right direction to do this task or even rite me a few lines of code which i can use as a starting template.

I think the structure would be something like this (correct me if im wrong)

1. opens the found new hardware wizard

2. auto clicks next, next when relevent

3. has a pre defined directory put into the found new hardware wizard in which to search for drivers.

does this sound about right?

Thanks alot.
