Screenshooting Problem

Recommended Posts

jbc1

Hi,

I'm embarrassed to say I'm still using AutoIT 3.2.4.9, along with the Auto3Lib by PaulIA which I understand is now merged into AutoIT. I don't really want to update as it's too much of a risk.

My problem is that when I take a screenshot, I get a screenshot the exact size of my UI, but it's almost like my UI is transparent, (see the attached screenshot to see what I mean)

I'm using code like this:

#include <A3LScreenCap.au3>

$window = "Window Name"

$handle = WinGetHandle($window, "")
WinActivate($handle)
_ScreenCap_CaptureWnd("Image1.jpg", $handle, False)

Any Ideas?

Thanks.

jbc1,

I regret to say that I think your chances of getting a solution are minimal. I cannot imagine anyone else here even uses 3.2.4.9 and even those who did in the past probably cannot remember enough about it to offer any sensible advice.

I seem to remember Valik suggesting to another poster that being several AutoIt updates behind was a good enough reason not to expect support. Why not upgrade? Given the changes since I started (3.2.10.0) I can imagine that there must be a Grand Canyon-style gulf between 3.2.4.9 and 3.3.0.0, but the advantages must outweigh the disadvantages. Surely you can arrange things so your existing scripts run using the old version until you get the hang of the current one?

Anyway, sorry I cannot be more positive in my response - no doubt someone will come along in a minute and contradict me. ;-)

P.S. Apologies in advance to Valik if I have mistaken/misremembered your comments.

You make a fair point, but the risk of updating at the moment is too great, for reasons I'm not going to go into here.

If someone can help, great.

If not, I'm sure I'll find a work around.

I think you should call it that way:

_ScreenCap_CaptureWnd("Image1.jpg", $handle, 0, 0, -1, -1, False)

Do you use latest Auto3Library from 2007-07-01?

Thanks Zedna, can you tell me where I could download this version of Auto3Lib from?
