new any suggestions and help

So im new to this, I tried it once before but could never concentrate on it long enough to get going and now im willing to put in the effort, so any help or suggestions would be great. Also i have a quetion just did the basic tutorial about opening notepad, writing text and then closeing it. But when i put !n to say no i dont want to save it doesnt do anything in the script. Then i tried changing the n to a s to save it and still nothing? could someone help me out?
