Automating Norton Antivirus 2009

I am trying to figure out a clean way to automate Norton Antivirus 2009. I can't get any Window text info or button info from it at all. All I can do is get pixel colors from coords and use mouseclick. But this seems like a messy and difficult way to automate this program.

Has anyone played around with automating Norton Antivirus 2009?

I don't use Norton AV myself... but I have been working on a Preventive Maintenence program for years and decided to add support for Norton 2009.

I've notice very few programs are written like this which makes them sort of difficult to automate.

The autoit window info tool.

I think Norton AV 2009 uses HTML. I am gonna see if I can use some IE UDFs on it.

I have still had no luck. Anyone have any ideas? Like I said I can use PixelColors just fine to automate it... but this method sucks. Because then I have to force each window to the top of the screen to get the pixel information. It's way to messy and unreliable. i wish there was a way to get pixel info from a minimized window.

Is there some other method to automate programs like this?
