i can't get filewrite to work if i use a large text string, can it be solved?

Func FileWrite1($filename, $writedata)

FileOpen($filename, 2)

$writedatalen = StringLen($writedata)

While StringLen(FileRead($filename)) < $writedatalen

$dafh1 = StringLen(FileRead($filename))

FileWrite($filename, StringLeft($writedata, $writedatalen))

$dafh2 = StringLen(FileRead($filename))

$writedata = StringTrimLeft($writedata, $dafh2 - $dafh1)

WEnd

EndFunc

If you're going to FileOpen() first, then catch the handle in a variable and use that. Don't go back and perform operations with the string file name while you have (or think you have) a handle open:
Local $hFile = FileOpen($filename, 2)
    FileWrite($hFile, $writedata)
    FileClose($hFile)
