_StringBetween - Please Help

Recommended Posts

i have tried everything to get this to work, for some reason its not searching in between, im using the ComputerInfo and trying to strip out whats needed for the service and dependancies

here is what one of the lines look like

//SERVER/root/cimv2:Win32_Service.Name="Browser"

im trying to strip it down to Browser

since it didnt really have an end on it other than " i added a string to it

here is an example

$toBeEditedAdd = $DependantService[$i][0] & "BLAH"

$toBeEdited = _StringBetween($tobeEditedAdd, 'Name="', '"BLAH')

MsgBox(0,"",$toBeEdited)

please help me with this, i am at my wits end, i have tried everything and the only thing i have got back was a 0 or nothing

shawnmstout,

If you were to read the help file page for _StringBetween, you will see:

"Success: A 0 based $array[0] contains the first found string".

All will work correctly if you read the value from the array:

#Include <string.au3>

$toBeEditedAdd = '//SERVER/root/cimv2:Win32_Service.Name="Browser"'

$toBeEdited = _StringBetween($tobeEditedAdd, '"', '"')

MsgBox(0,"",$toBeEdited[0])

You also do not need to add a BLAH - as you can see. :)
