supersoup
I am writing a program that will launch 3 programs then key in a username and password for each one. I started writing this program in VBscript but was told in the VBS forums that AutoIt was the way to go. Until then i had never even heard of AutoIt. If someone could help me out or point me in the right direction that would be wonderful.
Moderators Melba23 Posted July 28, 2009 Moderators Share Posted July 28, 2009 supersoup,First, welcome to the AutoIt forums.Reading the Help file (at least the first few sections - Using AutoIt, Tutorials and the first couple of References) will help you enormously. You should also look at the excellent tutorials that you will find here and here.Using the Search facility is also a good tip as there is a pretty good chance your question, or something like it, has been asked before. Look for the "Search" button to the right in the title bar. ------As to your particular case, look carefully at:Run - to get your programs started!WinWaitActive - to make sure they are runningSend - to enter the usernames/passwordsHave a go at coding something yourself and come back if you have problems.M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area

Moderators Melba23 Posted July 28, 2009 Moderators Share Posted July 28, 2009 supersoup,First, please do NOT PM me repeating the content of your post. It is considered extremely rude. You do not ask a question in your post, but I presume that you find the Run command does not work. If you were to read the Help file carefully you will find the following on the page for Run:Parameters - filename - The name of the executable (EXE, BAT, COM, or PIF) to run.Try referencing the application the .lnk actually points to.M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area
