Writting ASCI characters

4 posts in this topic

I am trying to interface a foreign keyboard/joystick device into my computer. Each button sends a different function the PC (via USB), many are easy to tell such as a, up, page down but some of the buttons apparantly do nothing. Is there a way of recording the input of these functions? I do not know how to record (or document for that matter) non standard characters.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

What software interface are you receiving the data from? Can't you work with it as binary bytes?

A medical program, but before I can map an alias i have to be able to identify all of the functions that it is sending and currently I can only identify the tradional characters. How does recording an input in bytes work?

Thanks

If you intend to use AutoIt, you need a way to communicate with the device that AutoIt can use. Search the forums for USB device comms. It has been discussed before, but I'm not an expert myself.
