Converting VB6 frames to AI groups

Recommended Posts

I wrote a program in VB6 some time ago that I've started to port to AutoIT. In VB6 'frames' have a background property that sets the colour of the whole interior of the frame. AI has group controls and while it allows setting the background colour of the label of the group, it doesn't allow setting the interior of the group.

I'd attach a snippet of the original programs window so that you can see what I am referring to, but it appears it's not allowed. Hmmmm... ?

For what it's worth here's what I came up with:

Step 1 - create whatever controls for the group

Step 2 - create a group with "" for its "text"

Step 3 - create a graphic control a little higher and bigger vertically than the group so that the colour overlaps the label created in step 5

Step 4 - use GUICtrlSetBkColor() to set the colour inside the group control

Step 5- create a label a little to the right of the top left of the group

Step 6- set the background colour of the label to the same as that defined above

Any alternatives would be appreciated.
