Rawox
Hi, As you all know, there is some kind of pointer in the window info tool: the thing that you can drag to some window and then get information about it. I want to create something like that, but I need the X and Y coordinates of the mouse... Is this possible? Thanks in advance, Rawox

I know I need to use MouseGetPos, But how can I create something that is dragable and when released gets the Mouse Position? That was the actual question. Moderators Melba23 Posted October 8, 2009 Moderators Share Posted October 8, 2009 Rawox, So here is an actual answer! You will get a small red box in the centre of the screen - move it with the mouse and when you let go of the mouse button, the mouse position will appear in the SciTE console. #include <GuiconstantsEx.au3> #include <WindowsConstants.au3> #include <SendMessage.au3> HotKeySet("{ESC}", "On_Exit") Func On_Exit() Exit EndFunc $hGUI = GUICreate("X", 5, 5, -1, -1, BitOR($WS_POPUP,$WS_BORDER), $WS_EX_TOPMOST) GUISetBkColor(0xFF0000, $hGUI) GUISetState() While 1 $msg = GUIGetMsg() Switch $msg Case $GUI_EVENT_PRIMARYDOWN _SendMessage($hGUI, $WM_SYSCOMMAND, 0xF012, 0) Case $GUI_EVENT_PRIMARYUP $aM_Pos = MouseGetPos() ConsoleWrite($aM_Pos[0] & " x " & $aM_Pos[1] & @CRLF) EndSwitch WEnd M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area

somdcomputerguy
I must say Melba23, this 'MousePos script' will prove to be such a handy little script. Thanks. - Bruce /*somdcomputerguy */ If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
