How to get filename + ext from an URL

3 posts in this topic

I think the titles explains it all, how to get the filename + ext from an URL?

For example: http://download.omroep.nl/bnn/mediadepot/flv/4/10/8812.flv

I searched some, but it only resulted in Path's.

Minesweeper

A minesweeper game created in autoit, source available.

_Mouse_UDF

An UDF for registering functions to mouse events, made in pure autoit.

2D Hitbox Editor

A 2D hitbox editor for quick creation of 2D sphere and rectangle hitboxes.

Most of the methods that work with a Path, will also work with a URL

Here is one example.

#include <file.au3>
Dim $szDrive, $szDir, $szFName, $szExt
$TestPath = _PathSplit("http://download.omroep.nl/bnn/mediadepot/flv/4/10/8812.flv", $szDrive, $szDir, $szFName, $szExt)
MsgBox(0,"File Name", $szFName & $szExt)

"Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the universe trying to build bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning."- Rick Cook
