Regex and string remplace...

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody !

I need to use a regex to split strings...

for example, my string is :

example1: blablabla (2009)

example2: Recording ![DONE] [ALPHA]

example3: text [blabla] (2010)

What uniq regex can I use to just keep thoses strings : ( removing []() )

example1: blablabla

example2: Recording !

example2: text

Thanks a lot !

Always nice to see some code you've tried!

Anyway, I'm feeling generous tonight:

Local $aStrings[3] = ["blablabla (2009)", "Recording ![DONE] [ALPHA]", "text [blabla] (2010)"]
Local $sStrings
For $i = 0 to Ubound($aStrings)-1
    $sStrings &= StringRegExpReplace($aStrings[$i], "(\(.*?\)|\[.*?\])","") & @CRLF
MsgBox(0,"Result", $sStrings)

Now, can you tell me how it works?

I'm not using the system where I could test it but I think I would probably do something like

$sStrings &= StringRegExpReplace($aStrings[$i], "^(.+?)[\[\(]?.*$","$1") & @CRLF

instead of

$sStrings &= StringRegExpReplace($aStrings[$i], "(\(.*?\)|\[.*?\])","") & @CRLF

However, either probably works.
