knaveen Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Hi.. Thanks a lot for your support. Im trying to find a way to Read\Change the maximum size of the recycle bin in Windows XP. I looked at multiple forums and found the following suggestion: Change the size of the key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\RecycleBinSize" to alter the size of the Recycle bin. This is true to some extent, but once we do this the options to change the recycle bin size are grayed out. A normal user cannot change after putting this registry key .. Also I would like to read the current allocated size of the recycle bin. READ carefully, i would like to check the ALLOCATED MAXIMUM SIZE and not the Size occupied by the files in the recycle bin. The following registry setting controls the recycle bin settings in Vista: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\BitBucket\Volume\XXX" - But this key is by default not present in Windows XP. Need help in in achieving the above the task. - Thanks in advance guys.....(NOTE: This is my first topic... Plz excuse if its not proper)
