AndyG Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 (edited) Hi, do the springs have all the same length or do they come from different machines (with different lenght)? Btw, whats the tolerance in lenght we are talking about? First you have to improve the quality of the "video", because the shadows in the background interfere with the photo editing. This improvement could be made with a light background to get a picture without shadows! A white piece of paper or cardboard in the background should avoid shadows. Then i would paint (or glue) the pin (where the spring is pluged) with something white. If you then have a picture without shadows, its much easier to get the outline of the spring! JohnOne Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 If I understand correct the whole point is to weed out springs that are not the correct size, so he cannot use that as a constant. You say you cant see the whole spring, and that might be true by your picture, but why cant you place the canera somwhere after it is released from the tool? I cannot help thinking that a hardware solution would not be simpler, made out of a couple of lolly ice sticks and an elastic band, or something if cash is an issue. I wish you the best of luck but somwhere, there will end up being a spring size checker out of work, and as a union man I think you should emloy another guy and pay him twice your wage. : AutoIt Absolute Beginners Require a serial Pause Script Video Tutorials by Morthawt ipify Monkey's are, like, natures humans.
