Get index of selected item from the list

Recommended Posts

I have dropdown (option) on my page. Want to get the index of selected item from that dropdown.

I tried using ControlListView function with GetSelected option, but somehow its not working. Everytime its returning zero value.

$index = ControlListView ($title, "", 21, "GetSelected", 1)

Is this is wrong ? Is there any other way to get the selected item index ?

Please help!

AutoITFresher,

ControlListView will not work because dropdown controls are Combos and not ListViews. :(

I would try something like this:

$hApp = WinGetHandle("App_Title")
If IsHWnd($hApp) Then
    $hCombo = ControlGetHandle($hApp, "", "[CLASS:Whatever; INSTANCE:Whatever]") ; Get these from the Window Info tool
    If IsHWnd($hCombo) Then
; Then either get the index directly
        $iIndex = _GUICtrlComboBox_GetCurSel($hCombo)

; Or get the list and the text in the edit box
        $sList = _GUICtrlComboBox_GetListArray $hCombo)
        $sSelection = _GUICtrlComboBox_GetEditText)$hCombo)
; And do an _ArraySearch to get the index

    Else
MsgBox(16, "Error", "Failed to get control handle.")
    EndIf
Else
MsgBox(16, "Error", "Failed to get window handle.")
EndIf

I hope that gets what you want. :graduated:
