Update Marquee Text

Recommended Posts

I'm using the great UDF by Melba23 found here.

I need to update the text after the marquee has been created.

What I've come up with so far is an ugly work around, deleting and recreating the GUI and marquee. It works but is nasty through and through.

Func _Label($Text)
    $A = WinGetTitle('[active]')
    If WinExists('MarqueeLabel') Then GUIDelete($LabelGUI)
    $LabelGUI = GUICreate("MarqueeLabel", 110, 12, 33, 224, $WS_POPUP, $WS_EX_MDICHILD, $hForm)
    _GUICtrlMarquee_SetDisplay(Default, 0xFFFFFF, 0x747378)
    _GUICtrlMarquee_SetScroll(Default, Default, Default, 5)
    $Scrolling = _GUICtrlMarquee_Create($Text, 0, 0, 110, 20)
    GUISetState(@SW_SHOW, $LabelGUI)
EndFunc   ;==>_Label

There is no need to delete the GUI - just delete the marquee itself. The ControlID is returned when you create it. :x

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include "Marquee.au3"

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

$hMarquee = _GUICtrlMarquee_Create("I am the original marquee text", 10,  10, 480, 20)

$hButton = GUICtrlCreateButton("Change", 10, 50, 80, 30)

While 1
    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
        Case $hButton
            $hMarquee = _GUICtrlMarquee_Create("And now I have been changed", 10,  10, 480, 20)
